Från Malo in the garden

We have three prepared spots in our small garden where we easily can gather for a meal or other activities when a table is a necessity. Today I have been working on the patio with evening sun. We have neglected this place since we don't use it that much. Maybe because it's not close enough to the house. It's a shame really since it's a very beautiful spot. Surrounded by two old apple trees where we have planted rambler roses (Rosa Helenae), clematis and honeysuckle. I don't know what the stones in the paving are called in English (see images)but we have layed them in a circle. Around it we've planted different sorts of roses. Rose de Recht,Celsiana, Mme Boll, St Nicholas and Mme Hardy. And the perennials we've used are Box, Geraniums, Anemones, Salvia Nemorosas, Lamb's ears and red and white Rudbeckias. I've worked hard today with the weed and the neglected rose bushes. The Anemones are very sturdy in one of the beds and almost dead in the other and the Salvias that I bought last year didn't make the winter so I planted new ones. Tomorrow I will cut the borders and hopefully we'll use this space more frequently. On the last image, my favourite perennial, Gillenia trifoliata.
